Welcome to adelaide!
I’m over in Adelaide at the moment, sounding out the city, adding places and seeing how weheartplaces works in a new environment. It’s a lovely place for sure. Nice and warm (compared to Wellington), not many snakes - only a few sharks and no crocodiles! I’ve added a few features over the past week, that have made it easier for me to share my experiences over here.. Breadcrumb...

And now 2000 people!
Wow - only a day after we reached the first 1000 people, we’ve now had 2000 people visit the site. Nice to meet you all and see all the cool places you’ve been adding!

Comment notification and RSS
Well, two little updates. We now send you an email if anyone comments on a place that you bookmarked or commented on. If you don’t want to receive these emails, just go to your settings and select “don’t email me!”. This is cool for helping people answer questions about places - you can now post about that interesting place in persia and hopefully someone will reply to you...

Improved searching
We’ve just finished adding a cool new search feature that lets you search comments, tags and addresses all at once. Basically - it means that you’ll find what you want more easily, more often! Try these search for example: bars in san francisco coffee near wellington medieval Try it out! We think it works really well. :)

Microformats!
I’ve updated the bookmarklet to look for vcard microformats in the page. What does this mean? It means if you go to the upcoming page for the roxy, when you click the we♥places bookmarklet, we’ll automatically work out what the address is. Awesome! I’ve also fixed a small bug with the bookmarklet that may have caused issues to people using Firefox.

Sorting and Browsing Oh My!
I’ve added two new features today, a cool sorting algorhythm that uses the power of arithmetic to try and make the funnest freshest places appear on the front page. I also added browsing, try going to a place page and you the two nearest places (in terms of time added to we♥places) will be there for your exploring pleasure!

Brightkite integration
If you use Brightkite, you might find this cool. Log into we♥places, then click on your username up in the top right. This is your ‘edit profile’ page. Enter your brightkite username, and within the hour we’ll import a bunch of places from your brightkite feed - they’ll show up on your ‘places i’ve been’ page. Here’s Chris Messinas visited places -...
