Welcome to adelaide!

I’m over in Adelaide at the moment, sounding out the city, adding places and seeing how weheartplaces works in a new environment. It’s a lovely place for sure. Nice and warm (compared to Wellington), not many snakes - only a few sharks and no crocodiles!

I’ve added a few features over the past week, that have made it easier for me to share my experiences over here..

  • Breadcrumb navigation - eg World > Adelaide > Botanic Garden, which makes it easier to see where you are in the world.
  • Adding places in cities. When you view a city, you get a handy list of places to go in the city, with comments people have made about them.
  • Various bug fixes.
  • A nice new set of features coming through around marking places on maps (currently you can only add places that are in the geonames database or that can be found by street address)

Outage! Sorry about that, our server came to a grinding halt last night for mysterious reasons. We’ll look into it and avoid future stoppingness.

At we♥places, we like walking - because we’re too poor to have cars, and because cars suck. They run people over, play bad music and stink up the place. As such - we’ve added walking distances to weheartplaces. Now you can see what’s in the neighbourhood and easy to walk to. :) nb: We assume you walk at 3kph, a gentle dawdling speed. :)
